Thomas Heddon left school at fifteen to go and work in various backstreet printers around the east end of London, having enrolled in a 3 year print planning course at the LCP (London Collage of Printing) he discovered his love of art.
Whilst I enjoy creating more traditional art pieces, my passion lies in creating dioramas - which convey a variety of scenes in miniature. I am entirely self taught and have found great pleasure in developing my techniques which bring to life the sublime, ridiculous and everyday in the smallest form. I love to explore the unconventional and push the boundaries with thought provoking pieces, which make for interesting talking points. The often dystopian and apocalyptic focus of my work invites the viewer to contemplate and perhaps challenge conventional ideas, concepts and views. The detail of my work is intended to absorb attention and invite the viewer to freely interpret the scenes before them - which are multi layered. The possibilities for this medium are endless and the perception unique for each person who has the opportunity to observe them. The level of detail to explore leaves each person with a different experience of my art.
